REAL ESTATE
We represent builders, developers, shopping centers and national commercial tenants in connection with
their leasing, zoning, expansion and borrowing needs.
LENDING
We have considerable expertise in representing financial institutions in negotiating and drafting
required loan documentation, and in closing a wide variety of commercial real estate
and corporate lending transactions, including unsecured loans, secured loans, revolving credit
loans, commercial finance, trade lines, term loans and asset-based lending transactions, as well as
short-term construction lending
and permanent real estate lending secured by mortgages on shopping centers, apartment
complexes, industrial buildings, commercial buildings and residential subdivisions. The firm also is involved with
structuring and closing health care related financing, industrial revenue bond financing and co-op
and condominium conversions. Additionally, in the course of our representation of our banking clients,
we regularly furnish advice on current developments in federal and state banking laws,
regulatory and environmental issues, as well as update on recent court decisions.
LITIGATION
We represent our clients in federal and New York state courts in significant areas of the law
such as contracts, banking, bankruptcy and creditors' rights, real estate, product liability, trademark and
unfair competition, equal employment opportunity, libel and slander, civil rights, municipal law and
various other business-related litigation. The firm also litigates in personal injury defense matters for
insurers and self-insureds, as well as subrogation claims. We also represent clients before State and
Administrative Agencies.
MUNICIPAL
The firm is often called upon by governmental bodies to represent their interests. The United
States, through the former Resolution Trust Corporation and the FDIC, has retained the firm
to handle litigation, workouts and restructurings arising from failed savings and loan institutions in New York. The firm
has acted as counsel to the County of Suffolk, and the Towns of Southampton, Babylon and
Huntington. The firm also represents the Villages of Hempstead, Northport, Freeport and Patchogue and
the Cities of Long Beach and New Rochelle.
PRO BONO
COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION
The firm has always responded to people in the community who are in need by actively
providing legal services through the Nassau/Suffolk Pro Bono Program, as well as individual
Pro Bono services on a selective basis. The firm also donates its
legal services to organizations in Nassau and Suffolk which provide shelter and food for the
homeless and hungry, such as the Huntington Coalition for the Homeless and Community
Advocates. In addition, the firm participates in the support of charitable and cultural not-for-profit
