Randy J. Schaefer is an Associate in the firm’s Bankruptcy and Foreclosure Departments focusing her practice on representing lenders and financial institutions in connection with a wide-range of litigated matters. Ms. Schaefer also has extensive experience handling preference and fraudulent conveyance matters in federal court representing trustees, creditors, debtors, liquidating trusts, and defendants in over 1500 proceedings in the Bankruptcy Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the District of Delaware.  Ms. Schaefer has been appointed as a Liquidating Trustee in bankruptcy matters and a Receiver in a number of high-profile cases that impact the local housing community.  In addition, she is a New York State Unified Court System Part 36 Referee having handled numerous civil cases.

While in law school, Ms. Schaefer received the American Jurisprudence Award in Real Estate Transactions and she remains an active Touro alumnus.  She regularly participates in Touro’s Mentor Program, Moderator in Touro’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Competition as well as Touro’s Moot Court competition.  Randy is a member of Touro’s Alumni Counsel and was appointed the First Vice President to the Executive Board of the Alumni Association.  She was also honored as the Alumni of the Month and later received the Exceptional Law School Service Award.

Ms. Schaefer is admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, District Courts for the Eastern, Southern, Northern and Western Districts of New York and the Bankruptcy Courts for the Eastern, Southern, Northern and Western Districts of New York.
