Berkman Henoch Obtains Defense Verdict on Behalf of Nassau County Police

Berkman Henoch partners, Joseph E. Macy and Donna A. Napolitano successfully defended at trial, Nassau County, the Nassau County Police Department and several individual officers in a federal civil rights trial before United States District Court, Eastern District of New York in the matter of Robert Isley v. County of Nassau, et. al., Docket CV – 11- 5228. The plaintiff had alleged that in responding to repeated telephone calls to the police 911 system, members of the Nassau County Police had unlawfully entered his residence and exercised excessive force in securing his arrest, thereby causing him to sustain serious, permanent injuries. At the conclusion of a six day trial, the jury returned a verdict for the defendants.
